One of my favourite things is shooting at golden hour. (You may have noticed!) We had just shot a sparkling steel bondage set and there was still a hint of sun-light, so Ariel quickly got Sophia into a hogtie and I rushed to capture the very last of the lush golden daylight. As you can tell from the fact that the set is a little short, we only just managed!

Actually I've got very frustrated with the limitations of my existing camera gear for this sort of rapidly-changing available light situation. My Canon 7D was on its last legs anyway, and it never really delivered the image quality I wanted in these situations. I could compromise on the speed of the lenses and get optical image stabilisation, or compromise on the shutter speeds and risk camera shake, or compromise on ISO and get noisy images. It feels like balancing on the top of a pyramid, a long way from the comfort zone of the kit. Which is why I've now bought a Sony A7Rii to cover exactly this patch of phase space in our shooting envelope. I'm really looking forward to putting it through its paces on our next location trip!
