Poor sweet heroine Charlotte Elizabeth has been forcefully abducted by the notorious (and strangely dashing) rake Edward Blackett. Displayed in chains in the solar of his country house, she attempts to elicit some hint as to what purpose he has in kidnapping her. Is he attempting to wriggle out of his gambling debts to her guardian's casino? Or was it that he saw her immodestly flash a hint of ankle at the ranch last Sunday and become inflamed with lust for her? She wasn't entirely sure what a man inflamned with lust was likely to do to a helpless girl in his captivity, but she rather hoped she might find out. It was a whole lot more flattering than being kidnapped over the matter of a poker debt!
