This is absolutely the strangest natural light I'd ever seen in my life. We were shooting just south of the Arctic circle,
near mid-summer, so when the sun starts to set it can hover low on the horizon for absolutely ages. We were driving back from
our day's shooting when I spotted this shaft of sunlight through the trees. We screeched to a halt just up the road, and ran
back. Ariel leapt out of the car and out of her clothes (well, mostly), I grabbed the ropes and Steve grabbed a camera. If we'd
been shooting this in Britain the light would have gone in seconds... but in Sweden, it lingered for just long enough to try
to shoot a set.
I know this is a bit of a weird and wacky set, and the bondage is just a waist rope and hands tied, so it isn't exactly the
strictest thing we've ever done. But it was so cool to be able to shoot something in natural light that looks like it was shot
with flashguns and red filters and all manner of technical stuff. I'm not even sure if I like it, but it was certainly five of
the most memorable minutes of my photographic career to date!
